Critical Loyalty offers live online programs rooted in the Islamic scholarly tradition. Courses are taught through close reading of classical texts, guided discussion, and thoughtful inquiry.
Saturday Programs

Study the science of Qur’anic recitation through the foundational texts Tuhfat al-Aṭfāl and al-Jazariyyah. Students will learn the principles of tajwīd, proper pronunciation, and the traditional methods of recitation through guided study and practice.

Study the Seven Canonical Readings through Hirz al-Amānī (al-Shāṭibiyyah), one of the most celebrated texts in the qirāʾāt tradition. Students will learn the principles, transmission, and practical application of the Seven Readings through guided study and recitation.

Advanced study of the Ten Canonical Readings through Ṭayyibat al-Nashr of Imam Ibn al-Jazarī. This course explores the transmission, methodology, and practical recitation of the Ten Readings within the classical qirāʾāt tradition.
Sunday Programs

Study the principles of hadith through Muqaddimah Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim and Kitāb al-ʿIlal of Imam al-Tirmidhī, alongside the life and character of the Prophet ﷺ through the Shamāʾil tradition. Students explore how hadith were transmitted, authenticated, critiqued, and preserved by the scholars of Islam.

Study the principles of Qur’anic interpretation through Fawz al-Kabīr and the classical tafsīr tradition. Students examine how meaning is derived from the Qur’an and how scholars have approached interpretation across different times and contexts.

Explore the Islamic understanding of reality, the human being, virtue, piety, and spiritual development through Hujjat Allah al-Bālighah. Students examine the deeper wisdoms underlying worship, ethics, and human conduct.

Study the higher objectives of Islamic law through Mīzān al-Ḥaqq (The Balance of Truth) and Al-Muwāfaqāt. Students explore the purposes of the Sharīʿah and the principles that guide legal reasoning, social reform, and ethical decision-making.

Beginning with the earliest theological discussions and continuing through Ibn Taymiyyah and the modern period, students examine the major schools, debates, and intellectual traditions that shaped Islamic thought.
