Tajwīd & Ijāzah

Primary Texts:Tuhfat al-Aṭfāl, Sharḥ Tuhfat al-Aṭfāl by al-Jamzūrī, al-Muqaddimah al-Jazariyyah, and Daqāʾiq al-Muḥkamah by Zakariyyā al-Anṣārī.

Curriculum

Students undertake a detailed study of Tuhfat al-Aṭfāl through the author’s own commentary and al-Muqaddimah al-Jazariyyah through Daqāʾiq al-Muḥkamah of Zakariyyā al-Anṣārī. Alongside the theoretical study of tajwīd, students apply these principles through guided recitation of the Qur’an, beginning from the opening of the first juzʾ and progressing continuously throughout the year. Upon successful completion of the program, students continue their recitation from their point of completion in the Qirāʾāt al-Ṣughrā program.

Certification

Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded an ijāzah in Tajwīd and Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim. Students who continue directly into the Qirāʾāt al-Ṣughrā program will progress without a separate final examination. Students completing the program without continuing to the next level will be required to pass a final examination before the ijāzah is awarded.
